Total Cake Walk

One thing we're asked about frequently by our couples is all about cake. From budget to styles to our recommended bakers, we have quite a few tips for our couples to help them decide on the sweetest deal for their big day.

More people = More cake = More money

It may seem obvious, but the more mouths to feed means the more money to spend. If you're having a larger guest count attend your wedding, then you'll need to budget for more cake to be served. Want to save a little money? Think outside the box with some of the ideas below!

All The Sweets

In some cases, going with a different dessert is the cheaper option. In recent years, we've seen cupcakes, donuts, cookies, pies, ice cream sandwiches, and mini cheesecakes. (The options are pretty endless here!) Still want the traditional cake? Consider getting a smaller cake for your cake cutting pictures, and then ordering sheet cake that can be cut in the kitchen and brought out for guests to eat. It's much cheaper than your five-tier cakes!

Bake It Up

Local bakeries are usually are go-to for weddings. They're not only familiar with the wedding industry, timelines, and trends, but they're also great for working within your budget. They usually offer cake tastings and meetings in advance of booking, too, so you can get an idea of who you'd like to work with before commiting!

Make It Simple

When really looking for cheaper options, it's best to design it that way. Naked cakes, fewer tiers, and less additional details in the design mean less stress on your wallet. Work with your baker to determine how to get what you want in the budget you need.
