2024 Trends: 6 Month Check In

Welcome back! We hope you enjoyed our 2024 Trends series earlier this year. We wanted to do another installment about halfway through the year that looks at the trends we’ve been seeing so far in our weddings. Check below for some of the new trends sticking out this year!

1. Private Dance

At the end of the night, couples have been leaning towards doing a private dance together. Whether it be as guests are lining up for the grand exit or after all the guests have left at the conclusion of the reception. This is a great opportunity for an intimate, romantic moment with just the two of you as you enter your married life.

2. Personal Vows

While some couples may still stick to the traditional vows, we have seen more lean towards writing their own vows. These may be in lieu of or in addition to the traditional vows during the ceremony. Some couples will choose to read their personal vows during a first look or first touch prior to the ceremony for the vows to remain private between them. This is a sweet, personal touch on your special day as you can reminisce about past experiences with one another and make your own unique promises to each other.

3. Dress Code for Guests

Some couples have begun to implement special dress codes at their weddings. This may include dressing to a theme or to a color scheme. For themes, typically these occur around holiday weddings or weddings that are sticking to an idea (nautical, black tie formal). For color schemes, this may help the cohesiveness of the overall wedding to appear more aesthetically pleasing such as dressing in nude/neutral colors.

4. Mini Bouquets

The traditional corsage has begun to fade for parents, grandparents, etc. Instead, couples are leaning towards creating small/mini bouquets instead. These are typically 3-5 stems of flowers or greenery that are put together in bouquet form. They can be for moms, grandparents, or even bridesmaids. Corsages can fall apart or get irritating to wear around the wrist all night. These bouquets also save money as they require less overall florals. With mini bouquets, they can also be repurposed on the tables as centerpieces after the ceremony or taken home for a memento of the day.

5. Content Creators

As social media continues to grow in popularity, we’ve seen more couples choose to have content creators at their weddings. These creators can design highlights, videos, etc of the wedding to provide instant visuals. This content can include behind the scenes of vendor prep/set up, additional reactions and/or interviews of guests, etc. This can help to provide an additional viewpoint of your wedding day that can go along with your traditional photography.
